About us

Sustainable development begins by investing in people.

The Baraka Danbaki Foundation was established to create opportunities for young people — particularly girls and underserved communities — through education, mentorship, health awareness and leadership development.

Originally launched as the Baraka Mentoring and Motivation Programme (BMMP), the initiative has grown into a registered foundation delivering programmes that address real community needs.

Through partnerships with schools, public institutions, development organisations and volunteers, we continue to inspire young people to become confident leaders and active contributors to society.

Every young person deserves access to opportunities that enable them to thrive, lead, and create lasting change.

Our vision

Equal access, everywhere.

To build empowered communities where every young person has equal access to education, health, leadership opportunities, and the resources needed to achieve their full potential.

Our mission

Empowerment through partnership.

To empower individuals and communities through education, mentorship, leadership development, health advocacy, and strategic partnerships that promote sustainable social and economic development.

Our core values

Seven commitments we hold ourselves to.

Integrity

We uphold honesty, transparency and accountability in everything we do.

Excellence

We strive for the highest standards in every programme and initiative.

Empowerment

We equip individuals with the knowledge, skills and opportunities to transform their lives.

Collaboration

We believe lasting impact is achieved through meaningful partnerships.

Inclusion

We promote equal opportunities regardless of gender, background or circumstance.

Innovation

We embrace creative solutions to address community challenges.

Service

We are committed to serving communities with compassion and purpose.

What we do

Six areas of work.

Each one built around a need young people told us they had.

Education & mentorship

We inspire students through mentorship programmes, career guidance, leadership training and personal development sessions.

Menstrual health & hygiene

We raise menstrual health awareness, distribute sanitary products, and teach girls to manage their health with dignity and confidence.

Leadership development

We build leadership skills, confidence, communication and civic responsibility so young people become the changemakers their communities need.

Career development

We expose students to career paths, entrepreneurship, employability skills, networking and professional development.

Study abroad opportunities

We help students understand scholarships, higher education options, international exchange programmes and global career pathways.

Community development

We work with communities and institutions on sustainable projects that improve education, health and social wellbeing.
